Director, Education

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Education, Operations & Member Support

Job Title: Director, Education

Reports to: Senior Director, Education

Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting PaymentsFirst’s mission to serve our members as a trusted partner supporting the secure use, advancement, and understanding of payment systems. The individual in this role will directly contribute to the association’s training and education objectives by designing, developing, and delivering payments-related material for internal and external training programs, products, and services.

This individual will also serve as one of the primary contacts for member calls related to regulatory rules interpretation (i.e., ACH, Check, Regulation E, Debit Card, Credit Card, Wires, etc.) and other payments issues

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist team to develop a strategy for content and delivery of education
  • Help develop the annual educational calendar
  • Ensure consistency and relevancy of educational offerings
  • Develop, Review and update educational presentations and materials:
    • Webinars
    • Workshops
    • Learning Management System
  • Promote and perform educational events
  • Identify opportunities to add, change or enhance education services
  • Work with Senior Director and Vice President to identify internal education needs and design a plan to ensure expert and consistent services provided
  • Consider the best delivery method for each training session offered
  • Assist with Member Support Hotline Support
  • Track scheduled events
  • Assist with conference planning and execution
  • Handle duties associated with the logistics of education
  • Represent the association with a professional appearance and conduct
  • Work within Board approved budget associated with job responsibilities
  • Adhere to Board Approved Bylaws, Policies, and Procedures
  • Support Strategic Objectives and help achieve annual goals
  • Serve on industry groups as determined appropriate by Sr. Executive Team
  • Contribute to the NACHA Requests for Information, Requests for Comment, and Rules Ballot process
  • Other duties as assigned

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Overnight travel required
  • Provide support to the Executive Leadership Team
  • Board meeting and Strategic Planning preparation (as requested)
  • Assist with Marketing and Communication campaigns (as requested)
  • Perform Risk & Compliance events and/or services (as requested)

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  Financial industry experience
  • A commitment to member satisfaction

  • Energetic, forward-thinking, high ethical standards, and an appropriate professional image
  • Well-organized and self-directed

  • Adult educational skills
  • Outgoing and engaging personality
  • Strong communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or three to five years of payments-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Certificates and Licenses:

One or more of the following accreditations preferred: Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Certified Payments Professional (CPP), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP), National Check Professional (NCP), Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP).
